For this assignment, we were supposed to create 2 versions of a cover. For this I had the idea to make a magazine about being in quarantine, I had the idea from recent events. The the images that are all drawn with the pen tool in Adobe Illustrator. For the first version I wanted to used the image with a gas mask, I felt this would be fitting to go along with the bio hazard symbols. For the second cover, this is a bit more simplistic, the two images are a tv, with the state of emergency broadcast on it, while the front cover has just the bio hazard symbol on it.

ReplyDeleteI think the idea of your magazine is very fitting during this time due to the current circumstances that we are all in. I think that is is great the used your skills from illustrator to make drawings for your magazine. When first looking I didn't know that the front cover of the second illustration was supposed to be a tv that is supposed to be broadcasting the state of emergency on it. The only way that I found out that it was supposed to be a tv was from your description that you gave. It would be helpful if that illustration was made more clear so that viewers would know exactly what they are looking at. Another thing that I would like to draw your attention to is the first front cover is that the two red segments. I would have liked to see the lower segment line up with the white border or the other red segment on where the title is. I also can't help but notice the outline that appears on the second front cover around the title. I think if you made some little changes to the layout and the other elements to the magazine I think your designs could be very dramatic and effective. I feel that the first design is your strongest one out of the two and I believe this magazine design should be the one you choose going forward with this design project.
